⚠️ Launch Week Tier List
Voidling Bound launched June 9, 2026. This tier list is based on official Species Overview videos, the Steam demo, developer interviews, and early community consensus. Rankings will shift as the meta develops. Last updated: June 10, 2026.
How We Rank: Methodology
Each Voidling is evaluated across four dimensions, weighted by game phase:
- Combat Power (40%) — raw damage output, survivability, and versatility in fights against Bulbous and GenBot factions
- Evolution Potential (30%) — number and quality of evolution branches, endgame scaling
- Ease of Use (15%) — skill floor, how hard to play effectively
- Accessibility (15%) — how early you can obtain it, difficulty of acquisition
S Tier — The Apex Predators
These Voidlings dominate at every stage of the game. Build your team around them if you can.
Morfang 🦈 — The Undisputed King
Element: Pyro / Plasma | Obtain: Full game | Evolutions: 16
Morfang is in a league of its own. A close-range berserker with relentless melee attacks, burrow ambushes, and devouring finishers. The official Species Overview describes it as a "ruthless apex predator" and the community comparison to Doom Slayer is not hyperbole — Morfang's aggression and sustain make it the strongest solo Voidling in the game. With 16 final evolutions (Pyro, Plasma, and Bleeding Executioner paths), it has more build diversity than any other species. If you can only invest in one Voidling, invest in Morfang.
Packuran 🪲 — The Heavy Weapons Platform
Element: Plasma / Cyber | Obtain: Full game | Evolutions: 16
The heaviest Voidling ever discovered. Packuran combines devastating radiation beams, continuous lasers, and kinetic attacks with minion summoning and wormhole creation — it is a one-Voidling army. The Cyber evolution path is particularly strong against GenBot enemies (who are weak to cyber attacks). With 16 final evolutions, Packuran matches Morfang in build diversity. Slightly harder to use than Morfang due to its size and slower movement, but the raw firepower more than compensates.
A Tier — Strong Picks, Minor Tradeoffs
Excellent Voidlings that excel in specific roles or require more skill to unlock their full potential.
Anami 🔮 — Best Ranged Caster
Element: Spellcaster | Obtain: Full game (Mid Game)
The "mystical spellweaver" is the premier ranged caster archetype. Anami controls the battlefield from distance with spell-based area denial and burst damage. In team compositions, Anami provides cover fire while melee Voidlings engage. Its main weakness is low durability — if enemies close the gap, Anami goes down fast. Pair with a tanky Voidling like Morfang or Gilick for best results.
Ur-Sek 🐻 — Most Flexible Combatant
Element: Stance-Switcher | Obtain: Full game (Mid Game) | Evolution: Cyber path confirmed
Ur-Sek's stance-switching mechanic makes it the most adaptable Voidling in combat. Switch between defensive, offensive, and utility stances on the fly. The community describes it as a "spider-bear" and the most-viewed Species Overview video (12,000 views) confirms its popularity. The Cyber evolution adds tech-based stance options. The skill ceiling is high — mastering stance timing takes practice — but the payoff is a Voidling that can handle any situation.
Gwigoon 🧬 — Endgame Splicing Monster
Element: Spliced | Obtain: Splicing Station (Endgame only)
Gwigoon is in a category of its own — it is not found in the wild, only created through the Splicing Station by combining gene fragments from multiple Voidlings. It masters self-replication, using clones in combat for devastating effects. The investment required is enormous, but the result is a Voidling with unique synergies no other species can match. A-tier because it is inaccessible until endgame — by the time you can create Gwigoon, you have already beaten most of the game. For post-game and Abyss Mode, it is S-tier.
B Tier — Solid Starters and Specialists
Good Voidlings that serve their purpose well but are outscaled in the late game or fill niche roles.
Kwipeck 🐔 — Best Starter for Ranged Players
Element: Organic / Pyro | Obtain: Starter (free demo + full game)
Kwipeck's Beak Minigun provides long-range rapid-fire DPS. It is the easier of the two starters — keep distance, strafe, and shoot. The Organic poison-sniper evolution adds damage-over-time and long-range precision. The Pyro evolution adds fire-based AoE and burn stacking. Kwipeck is forgiving for new players and remains viable through mid-game. It falls off in late game compared to Morfang or Packuran's raw damage, but as a starter it is excellent.
Gilick 🦎 — Best Starter for Aggressive Players
Element: Neutral (base) → Cryo or Fire | Obtain: Starter (free demo + full game)
Gilick's Cone Blast shotgun demands close-range aggression. The secondary Defensive Cyclone blocks attacks and deals AoE elemental damage, giving it surprising survivability for a starter. The Cryo evolution (freeze + shatter) is particularly effective against robotic GenBot enemies. The Fire evolution provides raw burn damage. Higher skill floor than Kwipeck — you need to manage range and parry timing — but rewards aggressive play. B-tier because late-game melee is dominated by Morfang.
Kerapin — Organic Mid-Range Specialist
Element: Organic / Cryo | Obtain: Full game (Mid Game)
Kerapin is a versatile mid-range fighter with the Burst Rifle as its primary. The branching evolution into Bolla Blast (knockback) or Snow Sling (ice projectiles that explode and freeze when stacked) gives it two distinct playstyles. Solid, reliable, but not exceptional. A B-tier Voidling that will serve you well until you can acquire an A or S-tier replacement.
Nimiod 🕊️ — Aerial Specialist
Element: Aerial | Obtain: Full game (Mid Game)
Nimiod's hover ability provides sustained aerial mobility — it is the only Voidling that can fight effectively from the air. This is both a strength and a weakness: Nimiod dominates fights where aerial positioning matters, but requires enemy design that accommodates hovering (developers confirmed special enemy types for this). In ground-based fights, Nimiod loses its advantage. A specialist tool — devastating in the right situation, mediocre otherwise. B-tier for general use, A-tier for specific encounters.
Quick Comparison Table

* Gwigoon is S-tier for post-game/Abyss Mode but A-tier overall due to endgame-only accessibility.
Which Starter Should You Pick?
The most common question from new players. Here is the honest answer:
- Pick Kwipeck if: you prefer ranged combat, want an easier learning curve, or are new to third-person shooters. The Beak Minigun is forgiving and the Organic evolution adds Poison DoT for safe damage.
- Pick Gilick if: you enjoy aggressive melee, are comfortable with parry/block timing, or plan to play Cryo for the GenBot matchup. Higher risk, higher reward in skilled hands.
Both starters can clear the game. The starter choice does not lock you out of anything — you can obtain other Voidlings as you progress. Pick the playstyle you enjoy more.
FAQ
Which Voidling is objectively the strongest?
Based on available data: Morfang. 16 evolution paths, highest raw melee damage, sustain through devour mechanics, and strong matchups against both enemy factions. Packuran is a close second, trading some survivability for ranged firepower and minion support.
Is the starter Voidling useless late game?
No. Both Kwipeck and Gilick remain viable through mid-game with their evolution paths. They are outscaled by Morfang and Packuran in raw numbers, but a well-built Kwipeck or Gilick can still contribute in late-game team compositions. You will eventually replace them as your primary, but they are not dead weight.
How do I get S-Tier Voidlings?
Morfang and Packuran are obtained in the full game. Their exact locations are being confirmed by the community. As of June 10, we do not have verified spawn locations — check the Voidlings page for updates.
Will this tier list change?
Almost certainly. The game launched June 9, 2026. As players discover optimal builds, evolution combinations, and hidden mechanics, the meta will shift. We will update this page as new information is confirmed.
